Happy 2013!

I can't believe it's already 2013!

 via

And I actually wrote the date correct all day! Pretty impressive, huh?!

We had a great New Years Eve. It was low key, but exactly what I wanted!

We went out to Hibachi dinner with some friends. Such a fun place to go on NYE!

Then we came home, changed into sweat pants and went next door to ring in the new year with our friends and puppies :)

I'm excited to see what 2013 has in store.

My overall resolution is to continue living a healthy lifestyle

-Work out consistently (running, barre or yoga 4x a week)

-Eat healthy all week (follow the Tone It Up diet more consistently and having WHOLE foods, and none of that processed junk!)

-Wash my face before I go to bed at night (I MUST do a better job with this! Ugh!)

-Have more dinner dates with my girl friends (I'm so busy with grad school, work, etc. I feel like I never have time to just relax and grab a glass of wine with friends)

-I promise I will TRY to blog more!!! I had 66 blog posts in 2011 and only 30 in 2012. Goal for 2013 is 70 blog posts, I can do it :)

What did you do for NYE? Are you setting any resolutions for the new year?

Looking back at 2011

Shew, 2011 flew by for me!

It was a jam-packed year though!

In January, I started my new and first job since graduating college! I was so excited and it has turned out great. (And we had LOTS of snow days!)

I also made a New Years resolution to stay organized throughout the year, which I have definitely been able to do thanks to my MomAgenda planner! (And of course, my trusty iPhone calendars!)

However, I have not stuck to the "attend hot yoga or pure barre once a week..." OOPS! Must work on this more next year. Maybe if I say 3 times a month, it will be more do-able!!! However, I have been LOVING my at-home PB dvd. I need to invest in a package so that I have no excuse not to go to PB class!

In February, I got the BEST VALENTINE'S DAY GIFT EVER!!!!!

Flowers at work....

and A LITTLE PUPPY!

I cannot even tell you how excited I was to finally have a puppy.... and a Goldendoodle! Perry is the BEST dog!! He rarely barks, loves cuddling with me, calm, loves riding in the car.

In March, UK rocked it out in the NCAA bracket and made it to the final four game....

I purchased my first pair of revas and I'm obsessed with them!

(March was kind of a slow and boring month, ha!)

In April, we lost the final four game to Connecticut.... UGH!

My sister ran her first 5K race at the Kentucky Horse Park!

We went to Isle of Palms for Perry's first trip to the beach!

And of course, the Royal Wedding I watched while I was getting ready for work in the wee early hours and later that night on DVR!

Had a party bus for Keeneland

In May, the end of the school year was in sight and my first 1/2 year of teaching was under my belt.

In June, Perry gave us a HUGE SCARE and had an emergency trip to the vet. I've never be so scared to leave my puppy. SO SCARY!

In July, Ben and I moved into a condo together.

And I love having a quiet pool all to myself at the new place :)

We ran a 5K in Columbus in memory of my Gammy (my grandma)

And Ben turned 25!! We celebrated at Melting Pot.

And I found a new obsession with my Silhouette SD machine!

In August, I prepared for the new school year and having my own classroom!

In September, I apparently didn't do much of anything according to my blog! Haha! (Must do a better job blogging more next year!)

On Labor day weekend, we went down to the Lake for one last weekend on the water!

In October, we did the Buddy Walk at the Thoroughbred Center to support the Down Syndrome Association of Central Kentucky.

And celebrated my sister and brother-in-laws birthday at Malones! So happy to have them in Lexington for their b-day!

And of course, Keeneland with everyone!

Dressing up as Woody and Jessie from Toy Story for Halloween

In November, Perry had his 1st birthday!

And enjoyed lots of treats.

I registered for my FIRST half marathon!!! Eek, so nervous!

And finally, in December, I became obsessed with Pinterest and made some of the things I had pinned.

Celebrated Christmas in Columbus and Glasgow

Celebrated my 24th birthday!!!

Whew, what a YEAR!!!!!!!!! If you made it this far, I give you props! Haha

I hope everyone has an AWESOME New Years Eve!!

See you in 2012.....

New Year, New Job

Happy, Happy New Year!!!

So with the new year came a new job for me. I finally have a BIG GIRL job!! I was so excited to start working on Monday, I couldn't even sleep Sunday night! 6 am came VERY early Monday morning, but it wasn't as hard to wake up as I thought... I hadn't woken up to an alarm clock in 3 weeks because of my extended winter break! I must admit, it's nice to be back on a routine though.

I am so happy with my school and class. It's one of the newer schools in the district and all the teachers and staff are very nice and great to work with. I think I am going to be happy here. The only question is how the numbers work out for the 2011-2012 school year, which could move me or other special ed teachers to different schools.

So as a part of my New Years Resolution, I have decided to stay organized throughout the ENTIRE year. I am always really good about staying organized with my planner and to-do lists during school, but when it comes to the weekend and summer, I am so bad about remembering to look at my planner or make To Do lists. One little present that will help me stay on track is my myagenda planner! I LOVE it!!! I was scared it wouldn't have enough room to write in each day, but it is perfect!!!
Love, love my initials in the corner!!

I love color coordinating my appointments! blue was school, yellow peronsal appts and purple for babysitting.

Also with this resolution comes exercising, or as I'm trying to call it, maintaining a "healthy lifestyle" by eating healthy, working out, doing my physical therapy exercises for my back, drinking water throughout the day and getting enough sleep. I think this will be a good resolution because it's something I can work on everyday!

Also, I am hoping to do either a hot yoga class or pure barre class once a week. I LOVE pure barre! I did my first class in late November and have only had a chance to go back twice since then. So I'm hoping I can make it more now that I have a set schedule and can reserve my spot ahead of time. Pure barre is a GREAT new workout that is popping up everywher. My hometown, Columbus, Ohio just opened one! Go to Pure Barre to learn more about this new workout class, it's amazing and you will definitely feel the burn each class!

Here's to 2011 and living a healthy lifestyle for the entire year!!!

AND surviving my first year as a college grad with my first full time job! I'm already anticipating my first snow day :)
